About Me
As a Swede turned global citizen, I have spent most of my adult life exploring different cultures and perspectives. Currently based in Geneva, Switzerland, I have the privilege of working as a Scientific and Technical Officer for the Convention on Wetlands, where I focus on advising and guiding countries on scientific issues related to wetlands.
With an interdisciplinary background in environmental policy, conservation biology and psychology, I bring a unique perspective to my work – combining science with a deep understanding of human behavior and environmental governance.
With a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences (BOKU) in Vienna, my research interests lies at the intersection of values and the natural environment – exploring how our perceptions and relationships with nature shape our behaviour, and sectoral interests and environmental governance – analysing how competing economic and political priorities influence international and EU forest-related policies.
My experience in environmental monitoring, policy research and governance has been shaped by different roles in UN agencies, research institutions, and international conventions. For instance, managing the UNECE Programme on Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, I gained practical experience in harmonising environmental data and indicators, including the development of a Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS) for the pan-European region. This role strengthened my ability to navigate multi-stakeholder governance processes and work across sectors to improve data-driven policymaking.
I am always eager to collaborate, exchange ideas and contribute to meaningful discussions on forest policy and governance.
Let’s connect and explore ways to make a lasting impact on our environment!
